Many people love cats and are unable to have them due to allergies. That is why Siberians are a wonderful and unique breed. People misunderstand what causes an allergic reaction. Most people think it is the dander that causes the allergic reaction, but that is only part of it. There is actually a protein called Feld-1 found in a cat's saliva. When this protein mixes with the dander during grooming, it is what gives off the reaction. Siberians are unique because they carry a very low amount of Feld-1. That is why most people can successfully share their home and hearts with a Siberian. The more the better! My husband is highly allergic to cats, and I have 2 daughter's with asthma, and we share our home successfully with our Siberians. This is why we named our cattery Nadezhda. We hope you will have the successes we have had and love our kittens as much as we do!
About Siberians....
Siberians are natural breed of cat. They have been around for centuries, and originated in the Siberian forests. It wasn't until the 90's that the first Siberian cats were brought over from Russia by Elizabeth Terrell.
This wonderful breed comes in many colors. It is considered a healthy and hardy breed as well. They are also referred to as dog-like. This might offend some cats, but not the Siberian. Even a self proclaimed dog lover will love a Siberian. I have seen that with my own eyes. Siberians have the tendancies that one might see in "man's best friend". They can be trained to walk on a leash. They can and will play fetch. They answer to their names frequently. It is very common for us to come home, and find our cats sitting at the door, waiting for us, or maybe it is their dinner. Most Siberians get along with other animals, such as dogs. They are also very tolerant of children. Many of them sleep with kids at night, in an effort to "protect them". It is up to the breeder to try and match the best personalities with the right family.
Grooming- For a cat that has 3 coats of hair, they really require minimal grooming. Siberians don't matt as easy as some of the other long haired breeds. All it normally takes is running a rotating teeth comb through their coats, and they are good to go! They also don't shed as often as one might expect. Siberians shed twice a year, Spring and Fall. Once they get a good brushing, it slows down dramatically. (My mom has only 1 long haired cat, and she can't understand how he sheds more then all of mine!)

Our cats and kittens are raised with lots of love and attention. We adore each and everyone of them. We make sure they get lots of cuddle time, to ensure a very socialized kitten for you. They also get plenty of play between 3 girls!
The Differences in kitten types............ (We are breeders of Traditional Siberians)
Pet Quality- This doesn't mean that the kitten is ill or not socialized, it just means that it might not have the perfect show standard, such as: wide muzzle, smaller wide set ears ect.... They can still be excellent companions. Show Quality- Show quality kittens will be evaluated for type, to ensure excellent showing possibilities. I will take all kittens to show to be evaluated by the educated judges prior to them going to their new home.. If you plan on showing your new kitten, this will help your kitten to already know the routine. I will assist you in showing your kitten if needed.
