Nadezhda Siberian Cats

From our Heart to Yours

Buyer Beware!!!

There is someone advertising purebred Siberian Cats and many other animals for sale.  These people have been convicted of animal abuse and it is a matter of public record.  They were dishonest with the people they purchased the animals they are breeding.  They will be dishonest with you too!!!!!

We all want the most for our money,  but I want to caution everyone to stop and think about what a life is worth.  Can you put a price on life?

When you purchase a purebreed kitten, they may seem expensive, and then again, you might find them at another breeder for a lesser amount,  but at what cost?  Stop and wonder why one kitten is so much cheaper then another.   Then ask yourself, is it worth it to save some money now, only to spend maybe 3 times as much on vet bills?

Check with the different registries (CFA, TICA, ect) to see if there is any complaints on the breeder.  Also, try to verify the pedigree, some people will falsify them!

Bad Breeder Warning Signs!

  1.  If a breeder does not offer registered papers on a kitten

  2. If a breeder refuses to show pedigrees of breeding animals upon request

  3.  If a breeder refuses to offer a contract

  4.  If a breeder refuses to give a health guarantee

  5. If a breeder fails to provide any vet documentation.

  6.  If a breeder refuses to allow you to speak with their vet

  7.  If a breeder doesn't ask you any questions about yourself or home.

  8.  If a breeder feeds poor quality food, or doesn't care what you feed.

  9. If a breeder doesn't want any further contact or updates

 10. If a breeder is breeding MULTIPLE different breeds and species, it is likely a "puppy       Mill"  (for instance 5 or 6 different breeds at one time, it makes you wonder if they are concentrating on the breed standards)

 11.  If a breeder does not encourage you to have your new kitten checked out by a vet within 72 hours........

12.  If a breeder lets a kitten go at a really young age.... Our breed takes years to mature.  What is the rush?  I know I don't personally mind feeding my kittens a longer amount of time to ensure they are healthy and ready to go.

Myths

Some say a breeder is hiding something because they may not invite you to their homes.  That is not always the case.   Some breeders opt to not have people visit their homes for many reasons.....

 1. This is our home, and we do not know you.  We might have small children or live alone, and our safety is a concern.  It is nothing personal, but would you want everyone who sent you an email to come into your home?  There have sadly been cases of people who have even been murdered over their breeding animals.

2.Our animals.  Sometimes there is different things that can be carried into a home on ones shoes or self without knowledge, and to prevent something from being carried in to a litter of kittens who are too young to be vaccinated.

 3. We might be concerned about some radical animal rights activist coming into our homes trying to take our precious pets.

There is many more reasons, but I am only trying to give you an example.  Most breeders will meet you outside of the home in a public place, with not only the kittens, but also the breeding parents.
