                                              Spaying/Neutering 

Some of you may wonder why many breeders now choose to spay/neuter our kittens prior to leaving.  We do this for many reasons.  It reduces the risk of infection, and reduces the urge to run out when in heat.  It can also help to limit or stop unwanted behaviors, such as spraying.   It also helps protect our kittens from "kitten mill breeders"

     However, it is a sad day when we can't trust fellow breeders.  It is scary to start up new breeders, as we know nothing of how they will care for our babies,  but when our trust is broken by a fellow "established breeder" it is really disheartening, and makes us no longer willing to sell unaltered cats. 

                                                        Microchipping

We have all heard the heartbreaking stories of someone's beloved pets "escaping" out the door, and never being seen again.  Yes, we can check shelters, but some of us live in towns where there are many, many shelters, and may not be able to search them all in time....  It is a sad system.

   BUT!!!  What if their cat is microchipped?  The shelter calls them and tells them where their cat is, and they can be reunited with their family.   

  Not all cats end up in a shelter you say....  Well true.  Some are taken in by families, and then taken to a vet.  Most vets will scan any cat, they are told was a stray.  That way, they can make sure the cat didn't belong to someone, or help to return that cat to their family.

   This is one reason why many breeders are opting to microchip.  Please take the time to register your kittens microchip.  Some breeders (including us) also include a pre-paid microchip registration.  This is all for your kittens safety!   We as breeders want our kittens and their families to have a long, happy life together.
